The fee for a visitor with a physical disability certificate, a mental disability certificate or a rehabilitation certificate is 50% of the individual fee. The individual fee for up to one caregiver accompanying a visitor with one of the certificates mentioned above is reduced by 50%.
Value Annual Passport
For the price of two visits, this value ticket allows you to visit the Aquarium as many times as you want in one year. You can also change your one-day ticket for an Annual Passport by paying the balance (This change is accepted only on the day of your visit, not later).

The video of varied marine life projected on a ring-shaped screen causes you to feel as if you are actually in the sea.
The seas of Japan

1.The Submarine Forest of Maboya
Japanese ascidians, schools of fish, and sunlight combine to create a beautiful and mystic scene. Visitors can enjoy it while looking up at it.

2.Sparkling of Life
The sun-drenched, gigantic, and beautiful water tank looks as if it were cut out of the sea off Sanriku.

3.Oyashio, Cold Current
This section presents colorful and beautiful marine life of marked individuality that is found in cold seas.

4.Irodori, Sea of seaweed
This section displays Sanriku’s unique marine environment that abounds in colorful marine plants and introduces fishing gear of women divers and so forth.

5.Tairyo, Great Fish
In addition to the water tank that represents the magnificent ocean, scenes of fish markets and the landing of fish are on display.

6.Naiwan, Sea of Blessing
This section presents a deep bay with a rich ecosystem through hands-on displays such as workshops.

7.Amamo, Sea Cradel
Visitors can physically experience fantastic eelgrass beds that attract various kinds of living creatures.
8.Higate, Cultivating Sea Life
Visitors can observe the world of tidal flats through holes in the water tank at the same eye level as tiny creatures living there.

9.Shinkai, Deep Sea
This section displays hagfish and other creatures that live at depths of 200 m or more.

10.UMINO-MORI Lab.
This laboratory works to reproduce rare marine life of the region and communicate information on it.

11.The Hirose River, the Source of Sea
Visitors can physically experience the changes of the four seasons through displays that focus on the environment of the river.
UMINO-MORI Beach
This reproduced rocky beach allows visitors to come into contact with creatures living there and reaffirm how wonderful the sea is.

This gallery displays the support and cooperation the Tohoku people have received from various countries of the world since the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Beautiful fish from the Great Barrier Reef, fairy penguins, and other marine organisms are on display.

14.Scene II Europe
Scene II exhibits a wide range of living creatures in Europe such as Baikal seals and sturgeons.

15.Scene III Africa
This section displays a wide range of fish (such as lungfish), amphibians, and reptiles.

16.Scene IV North America and South America
The Americas section has on display colorful marine life such as Commerson’s dolphins and schools of neon tetras.

17.Scene V Asia
Living creatures of marked individuality such as Archerfish and Spotted garden eels are on display.

18.Our Mother Sea
Visitors can enjoy marine life from a different perspective than the first floor.
19.Communication Wall
The Communication Wall provides a bulletin board that connects visitors and the Aquarium as they enjoy creating beautiful marine landscapes.

20.Jellyfish Room
Schools of jellyfish dancing slowly in the water tank provide a space of healing.

Entertainment programs
Performance of dolphins and sea lions

The comical and dynamic performances of dolphins and sea lions always make visitors smile. The swimming pool, which has no acrylic partition, brings visitors closer to marine animals, allowing them to enjoy their energetic performances.
One session of performances lasts about 20 minutes.
Sparkling of life

“Sparkling of Life” presents the dramatic life of the magnificent ocean. Visitors can feel the sparkling of life in the sea off the Sanriku coast.
One session lasts about five minutes.
Friendly time

South American sea lions, a member of the sea lion family, and penguins appear at the viewing zone of visitors! You can feel how they breathe and you can touch them, an experience that cannot be gained by seeing them through glass partitions.

Penguin feeding time

Visitors may feed the penguins. Not only can visitors watch the cute movement of the penguins, but feeding them allows visitors to feel as if they are part of the staff in charge of handling the penguins!
Dolphin touch & photo

Visitors can touch bottle - nose dolphins that appear in the show. By standing just beside a dolphin, they can actually experience how big it is and feel its body. In addition, a member of the photo staff takes a picture of a visitor and a dolphin together and hands it to the visitor as a souvenir.
Backyard tour

These tours enable visitors to explore the backyard of the Aquarium, which is usually not open to the public, together with the people in charge of handling animals. The staff members show the back of water tanks and the rooms where foods are prepared for animals while providing a fun explanation about them.

About a 15 minute walk from Nakanosakae Station, which is reached by JR Senseki Line from Sendai Station in about 18 minutes.
A free shuttle bus runs from Nakanosakae Station on the JR Senseki Line

When coming by car

Immediately after exiting the Sendai Port Interchange on the Sendai Tobu Road (about 20 minutes from Sendai South Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway)

Parking lots can accommodate a total of 800 cars (Temporary parking spaces will be provided at the Takasago Chuo Park for a certain period of time).

Pets are not allowed to accompany their owners inside the Aquarium (excluding service dogs).

Depending on weather conditions, the condition of the animals, and other circumstances, the Aquarium may be closed or its operation may be suspended.

Visitors wishing to reenter the Aquarium should get a stamp for reentry at the exit before leaving.

Visitors who may cause a nuisance to people around them may be refused entry into the Aquarium.

Please follow the instructions calmly if an earthquake earlyw arning is issued.

In Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium, if we decided the followings apply to the people, we might prohibit them from entering and make them leave.In that case, we will not refund the entrance fee at all.
